Proving his point, there, but he doesn't get a chance to be smug about it, already bristling at the idea that she's about to stomp over here and start dismantling his work.
"I'm not done with these." He was not interested in having to start the whole endeavour over from scratch. So he adds, "When I am, I'll put them back."
