Ellie doesn't wince, but it still feels like a cut. It would've hurt worse if Ellie didn't know Ellis, know how committed he is to getting the job done no matter what.
She still manages to be disappointed in him, just a fucking little. Ellie's done far worse than what he's suggesting, with far less hesitation. She's not about to pretend that she's a good person, but maybe she can avoid not being a completely shitty one.
"We destroy the corpses," Ellie says, re-folding her arms. "Either we trap them in the mine when we seal it, or we leave the remains here. Then we get a message to the villagers and ask them to check on their graves."
Ellie bites the inside of her cheek.
"This place is isolated, far out enough, that I really doubt that they imported all these corpses. If one of 'em broke down I don't think they sent more in wagons with fresh dead. They raided the village gravesite, or somewhere close. We give them a chance to bury their dead and we give them a reason to stop working for the Venatori."
